Speech Therapy Activity Book for Kindergarten Preparation

Build speech-sound skills, one page at a time.

This speech therapy book gives parents simple, supportive activities for articulation and phonological-skill development—ideal for children preparing for kindergarten and those who need continued practice. This book is a helpful companion throughout speech therapy, especially for children working on articulation or phonological delays. It includes all the sound combinations needed for speech practice and helps cut down on the back-and-forth between therapists and parents about homework assignments. This book was created by a speech-language pathologist working with a kindergartner who had numerous speech sound errors. Because the child’s parent had recently started a new job, it was difficult to connect regularly about therapy and home practice. The book gave the parent a clear way to practice with their child at home and stay informed about the speech sounds they were working on.

A message from the Author

As a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist, I created this book to solve a specific problem in speech therapy: making home practice for articulation and phonological delays simpler and more effective for busy families.

Day in and day out, working hands-on with children experiencing articulation and phonological delays, I saw firsthand how challenging it can be for busy parents to bridge the gap between speech therapy sessions and home practice. I wanted to create a resource that eliminates the back-and-forth of traditional homework assignments, giving you complete visibility and control over your child's progress right at home.

This comprehensive speech therapy workbook is designed with every single articulation combination available, organized across the initial, medial, and final positions of words. It purposefully starts with VC (vowel-consonant) combinations, moving on to CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) structures — the fundamental building blocks of speech and literacy. This targeted progression directly helps children overcome sound substitutions and manage articulation and phonological delays.

Through close collaboration with kindergarten teachers, I integrated curriculum materials and foundational milestones expected in a general education classroom.

While this book is a powerful tool to prepare children to transition into kindergarten, articulation and speech delays can affect children at any age. Whether your child is just starting their speech journey or is older and working to master specific sounds, this resource adapts to their unique developmental timeline.

My goal is to give busy parents the tools they need to take an active, confident role in their child's communication journey — because with the right support, every child can succeed.
